My political compass
Big picture!! Basically it's a more complex diagram of political standing than just left or right, The X axis represents my economic politics (socialist or capitalist) and the vertical Y axis represents my social politics (Conservative or liberal), as you can see i'm on a par with Gandhi or the Green Party, bizarrely Tony Blair is closer to Hitler on this thing than he is to me! take it here if you can be bothered :P # posted by The Prisoner | 9:38 AM | Monday, April 26, 2004

Movies!
If there's one thing i've ever beeen wrong about it was my prediction about this movie- The Butterfly effect, i watched the trailer and thought... Brain:Hmm...Rob, what do you make of this trailer? Rob:It looks okay... Brain:WRONG!!!! IT IS NOT OKAY!!! IT LOOKS SHIT FOR SOME UNFATHOMABLE REASON!!! NOW BE QUIET AND I'll THINK ABOUT PORN SOME MORE!!!!!!! (oops, think i thought that too loud) last time i ever listen to my brain... The butterfly effect is a very good film, it's filled to bursting with all sorts of psychological nonsense to fry your mind, and it also contains humour at highly innappropriate moments, which is gloriously funny (the surprised look on his face when he changes history so he has no arms was a clincher) The amount of people with serious therapy issues in this film is beyond belief (in one instance of changing history a boy changes from a murderous psychotic to a born again christian, can you say PSYCHOTIC EPISODE?) watch it and don't listen to your brains. more regular posts when i get back to school... That's right folks! Yesterday my and me Mam saw the Passion of the Christ, I was surprised and somewhat disappointed to discover it was quite good if a little unnerving in it's gratuity. I did however object very strongly to the prescence of the devil as a character...He was quite obviously meant by Gibson (a catholic of the strictest order) to represent a gay man! Bastard!, now I ain't gay but I object to having my faith advertised to the world as a bunch of homophobes who believe that judas was tormented by demonic children who resembled GOLLUM before he hung himself and that the devil would take a physical form which involed a deformed conjoined baby. What i would have done is this...take the actor playing jesus, shave off his Beard, replace those orange contact lenses of his with really dark ones, and get him to play the devil as well, completely straight with no mutations or CG shit, then the audience would wonder who he was for a few moments and then use their brains to work out who it's meant to be, a sort of Iago type figure tempting Jesus, which is what the devil is, and the audience would not feel they'd had theri intelligence insulted by making the devil so.....so.....CORNY. apart from this it was fine, i wasn't sick but id did close my eyes for the nailing bits, which made it worse because i could then just hear the crunching! I also couldn't bear the bit where the scrouge gets caught and they rip off a whole bit of flesh to expose ribs beneath :X Happy Easter Indeed! :P Todays Music: Audioslave-Show me how to live # posted by The Prisoner | 6:51 PM | Monday, April 05, 2004
Every day this picture torments me from school!! today it arbitraily decided that blogger would now be blocked! I am having to blog from home on my Dad's computer so expect entries to be a little more irregular from now on, oh well... Moving on i have movies to report on. Open Range Kevin Costner has redeemed himself for the Postman with this Western, its a breath of fresh air amongst crap like The Matrix Rewinded or whatever. It tells a very simple yet gripping story very much in the style of the old Westerns and delivers superbly, the chemistry between the two leads is exceptional and the Gunfight at the end makes a wicked climax. Watch it Dawn of the Dead Sometime in the early scripting someone high up must have realised that this film would basically be shite, so they did something very sensible, They threw the script away! This film is sheer hockum and is not embarrased to say so and is all the better for it. I've never known a 'horror' flick make me laugh so much as this-most memorable would be the zomibie baby, the celebrity zombie shooting contest and the really really fat zombie. I can't wait for Shaun of the Dead-The SPOOF! Shadow of the Vampire Exquisite..........go...........watch..........NOW!!!!!!! Tell me what you think of these three, don't be shy now, comment away.
