busy busy busy....

Right, we've got lots to get through today, sorta like a blog version of richard and judy.

Firstly all the best to S. and his dad, i know all of us lot wish we actually knew you so we could help out in some way, but you'll have to settle for empty sympathy from some words on a screen. big help i know.

Next, it's been a very long time since i had a proper rant, but i rather feel i've earned this one, i call it...

unemployment...and wimbledon
In which The_prisoner searches for a job and comes to the conclusion that money really is the route of all evil, except the little round yellow evil that all the people in white get so excited about.

I am student, and as such am terminally unemployable. it seems the assumption is that we cant be trusted to do a job because we're all drunkards, and as soon as we get a job we'll all get on out little mopeds and ride off to backpack around somalia or something. Of course thats an over genralisation, some of us prefer crack cocaine, and as such are no good for working in a shop where our beaded dreadlocks might frighten the customers. bastards.

All these places i've applied to and been refused, only one has so far even consented to talk to me. One! the rest have taken one look at the piece of paper that says im a student and run a fucking mile! The best one however was applying for William Hill, thats right, the bookies. they required me to ring up an automated interview phone line. It was basically one of those "which charater from [some tv of film] are you?" quizzes, and based on that they decided how employable (or not) i was. what a crock of shit. and all of this woe because of capitalism, because becoming a student these days is tantamount to financial suicide. Just you all wait till i've got my degree and i'm running the world! then you'll see! oh wait, tony wants everyone to go to uni doesnt he? all this crap for a qualification that has less and less worth with every passing year, bugger.

and now to make it all worse, wimbledons back on telly, filling up my bloody schedule with tennis, this is another one of those instances where if i ever meet the bloke responsible i will hit him. Sorry Tim, but i definately wont be on Henman Hill this year, or any year for that matter.

Christian Bale in 'More Than Making up for Previous Shit Movies' Shocker!!!

The_prisoner expresses pleasant surprise at how good Batman begins is.

They've got rid of all the over the top siily bits and the crazy costumes, shhoehorned in more big names than you can shake a stick at and provided an absolutely shit hot Batmobile that i now want. and surprise surprise, it seems to have worked. I'm so glad that somebody remembered that batman is supposed to be the Dark Knight, i.e. just as scary and mean as the people he's going after. Kudos to Christian Bale, i think we can finally forgive him for equilibrium now.

That'll do me for today, tune in next time.

todays t-shirt: Flock this, I'm off to the Baaa. [said by a sheep obviously]
todays music: Therapy? - Screamager
